SUMMARY OF CONCLUSIONS Subject: 154th meeting of the COST Senior Officials Committee held in Dubrovnik on 26 and 28 May 2003 1. OPENING OF THE MEETING Prof Gvozden FLEGO, Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of Croatia, welcomed participants to the meeting. 2. ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA The Committee adopted the agenda, as set out in Telex n° 2264 of 12 May 2003. 3. APPROVAL OF THE SUMMARY OF CONCLUSIONS OF THE 153RD MEETING (doc. COST 241/03) The Committee approved the abovementioned Summary of Conclusions.

4. INFORMATION FROM - the Greek EU Presidency The Greek delegation gave the Committee a brief overview of the main activities in the field of RT&D policy towards the end of the Greek EU Presidency and summarised the results of the latest meeting of the Competitiveness Council of the European Union, which had drawn particular attention to the meeting of RTD Ministers of the Balkan region in Thessaloniki on 26 and June. - the delegations The Hungarian delegation reported on the meeting of the TC on Urban Civil Engineering that had been held on 12 - 13 May in Budapest. An international conference will be organised in Göteborg in 2005 "International Conference for Integrating Urban Knowledge and Practice", which could offer COST a possibility for greater visibility by organising COST meetings (MC, TC) as side-events to the conference. In this context it is recalled that the final conference of COST Action C8 on "Best Practices in Sustainable Urban Infrastructure" will take place in Trento on 6- 8 November 2003. - JAF and SIG The Chairs of JAF and SIG respectively summarised the main results of the last JAF and SIG meetings held on 7 - 8 May 2003 in Thessaloniki.
