The European Commission's Enterprise DG intends to publish a call for tenders in September 2004 relating to a study on the competitiveness of the European information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
The study should analyse the recent competitiveness of the EU ICT sector versus its competitors in other parts of the world including the situation in 2003. The study should further provide an analysis of the current economic and technological developments in the EU ICT sector in 2004.
Based on the competitiveness analysis and the analysis of developments in 2004, the study should assess the trends influencing the competitiveness of the EU ICT sector in the next three years. The study should further provide policy proposals and recommendations, aiming at strengthening the competitiveness of the EU ICT sector.
The estimated total cost of the study is 500,000 euro.
