Staffordshire University - VAT windfall funds training

二月 26, 2009

A £500,000 windfall from the recent VAT cut will be spent by Staffordshire University on a scheme to help the unemployed and local firms. The university said the money would help to pay for training via its Working Futures fund, with up to £3,000 available per candidate. Cathy Gilbert, director of sales and recruitment, said: "The VAT windfall is an unexpected bonus and as the cut was designed to kick-start the economy, that's exactly what we'll be doing. We're investing in the local area to ensure the region's workforce comes out of the recession with stronger skills and better equipped for the future."
