The Government has launched a set of new English-language qualifications that aim to encourage employers to contribute to the cost of training their staff. Shorter and more work-focused than traditional English for Speakers of Other Languages qualifications, the new Esol for Work qualifications aim to give learners practical English skills in essential workplace matters, such as health and safety and customer service. The cost of the courses will be co-funded, with employers expected to contribute about £330.
