Brussels, 22 Apr 2004

A workshop on 'Space: science, technology and the arts' will take place in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, at the European space research and technology centre of the European Space Agency (ESA) from 18 to 21 May.

Artists wanting to explore space in artistic terms often wish to acquire knowledge about the utilisation of space technologies, materials, mechanisms and procedures in order to develop feasible works of art and projects. Such activities have broadened the idea of space exploration within the space community while making space exploration comprehensible and accessible to the wider public.

The event will provide an opportunity for professionals from the space and arts communities to meet, and to discuss and exchange new ideas.
