Alumnus to be proud of no 158 was one of the key figures in Iraq's development of biological weapons during the 1980s. Rihab Taha's expertise in the diseases of key crops, and the possible means by which they were induced, was partly acquired while studying for a doctorate at the University of East Anglia. Her thesis, examined in 1984, focused on diseases in tobacco plants.
