Single-sex college sticks to women

* Women students at the University of Durham's only single-sex college, St Mary's, protested this week over management talks on making the college mixed.

The university senate decided on Tuesday to review the question over the next three years, keeping the college single sex in the meantime. But it will reduce the student intake from 170 to 140 and will allow other colleges to use the remaining space in college buildings.
