Sheriff tells son to work for keep

An Aberdeen University law student suing his estranged mother for money towards his living costs, was told to get a job this week after being awarded an interim payment of Pounds 60 a month until a full hearing next year.

Patrick Macdonald, 20, is seeking Pounds 400 a month from his solicitor mother Margaret. He lives with his father, now unemployed. Sheriff Daphne Robertson said he could make up the shortfall by working 14 hours a week.
