Scottish Office sets out spending priorities

* The Scottish Office this week launched a paper on lifelong learning, Opportunity Scotland. It sets out a ten-point plan covering priority areas for spending.

More than Pounds 100 million will be invested to enable 42,000 more students to participate in further and higher education, and a Pounds 6 million pilot project will support payment of fees and development of pathfinder courses, for unemployed and low-income HEI part-time students.
