Scots try to bridge the industry-academe gap

Scotland is looking at a national scheme to allow academics and industrialists to move more easily from one sector to the other in a bid to promote knowledge transfer.

The Scottish Higher Education Funding Council and Scottish Enterprise, the national development agency, propose acting as brokers to help home-grown companies get research support, and will also help higher education institutions to win major funding from outside Scotland.
