Scots funding body appoints new faces

THE Scottish Higher Education Funding Council has appointed four new members: Alice Brown, professor of politics at Edinburgh University; Georgina Follett, head of the design school at Dundee; Tom McCool, visiting professor in the faculty of education at Strathclyde; and James McColl, chairman and chief executive of Clyde Blowers plc. They replace Sheila McLean, Ian Sword, James Adamson and Sheena Cooper. Shefc council members are paid Pounds 4,460 a year.
