Folk at Brunel and Oxford may fuss about honouring Lady Thatcher, but in Israel they are made of sterner stuff. Trumpetting research by Meir Lahav and Leslie Leiserowitz, the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel, makes much of the fact that Lahav "holds the Margaret Thatcher chair of chemistry," possibly named in honour of her pre-political career as a researcher in Oxford. The science being carried out in her name is obviously vital to Israel's future - it concerns the chemicals that stop engines starting on cold mornings.
