An official survey by neurologists and psychiatrists at Rome's La Sapienza university has revealed an alarmingly high incidence of depression and anxiety disorders among Italy's two million university students. Eighty-five per cent admitted to having had an average of two to three accidents in the course of the previous two months and 20 per cent said they suffered from acute insomnia. Only 4 per cent were undergoing treatment.
