Applications are now being invited to support research into meningitis. The trust is particularly interested in receiving applications concentrating on the development of meningococcal serogroup B vaccines. The priority areas are:

High priority:
Development of meningococcal serogroup B vaccines.
Surveillance and diagnosis of meningococcal disease.

Medium priority:
Development of vaccines for other causes of meningitis.
Surveillance and diagnosis of other causes of meningitis.
Effectiveness of early treatment.
Management of after effects.

Low priority:
Pathogenesis.
Hospital therapy.

Applicants are asked to email a prècis of the proposed study (maximum of four A4 pages, minimum font size 10) including rough costings to research@meningitis-trust.org.uk .
