Subject: Cooperation in the field of agriculture related research
At its meeting on 15 November 2004, the Special Committee heard a presentation by the Presidency on the report1 it had drawn up on the basis of the Member States replies to the questionnaire on cooperation between research funders in Europe2.
The Commission representative indicated that the Commission welcomed the Presidency initiative and that it received full support from the Commission. He also informed the SCA that the Member States have been asked to nominate two experts to attend the next meeting of the SCAR, the Standing Committee for Agricultural Research that will take place in February 2005.
The Chair concluded that the intention of the Presidency was that the Council briefly discuss the Presidency conclusions with a view to having the support of the other delegations on these conclusions on the report "Towards cooperation between research funders and programme managers in the domain of Agriculture, Food, Rural Development and Fisheries in the European Union" and in particular on the proposed follow-up. These conclusions are annexed to this report.
