Rainbow fund to help spin-offs to pot of gold

The government has launched its first seed-capital fund, designed to help start spin-off companies from public research laboratories.

The £4 million Rainbow fund will make investments in individual projects from about £10,000 to £250,000 to fund activities including market research, preparation of a business plan, building a prototype and early business development.
