Rail delay forces Queen to Cambridge by road

The Queen was to travel by train to open Cambridge University's new centre for advanced religious and theological studies yesterday but decided to switch from rail to road because of continuing train delays. "The 45-minute journey is taking up to two hours, and we did not want the Queen to be late for her appointments," said a Buckingham Palace spokeswoman. The Queen was also visiting Trinity Hall to celebrate 650 years of its royal licence.
