Queen's Belfast and Salford - Terrorism MAs unveiled

二月 7, 2008

A new postgraduate degree course aimed at giving students a deeper understanding of terrorism and international security in the modern world has been launched by Queen's University Belfast. In the MA in violence, terrorism and security, students can study a range of topics including violence, terrorism, international security, conflict management, globalisation and the experiences of these issues in Northern Ireland and elsewhere around the world. The University of Salford has also launched an MA in terrorism and security, which will, it says, help train the counterterrorist and human rights campaigners of the future with a blend of politics and ethical studies. Christian Kaunert, the course leader at Salford, said: "This isn't simply about knowing how to defeat terrorists, but also about analysing the civil liberty implications of how governments seek to deal with threats. We want to develop a fully rounded knowledge of this ever-increasing phenomenon."
