Subject: Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council Integration of the EGNOS programme in the Galileo programme
The D delegation has presented the following amendments to the text of draft conclusions:
- The following phrase should be added at the beginning of paragraph 4a): "under the condition that funding of EGNOS is guaranteed...";
- The following phrase should be added at the end of the second indent of paragraph 4b): "with due regard to those parties who contributed to the funding of the development and deployment phases of the EGNOS system;"
- Paragraph 4d) should read as follows: "the EGNOS system should as far as necessary receive public funding from various sources from 2004 to 2008 in order to improve the system to meet the obligations of the international standards (such as ICAO and IMO); the decision on participation and amount of financial contribution for each Member State has to be taken within the ESA framework;"
- Paragraph 4 e) should be deleted.
