Professor gives colorado £10m

A biochemistry professor in the US has given £10 million to his university for a new biotechnology facility. Marvin Caruthers, who co-founded the biotechnology company Amgen, donated the money towards a £57 million research and teaching facility at University of Colorado at Boulder. It will be named after his late wife, Jennie Smoly Caruthers, a former professor in the biology and chemistry department at the university. Professor Marvin Caruthers recently received the National Medal of Science, the country's highest award for scientific achievement.
