Deadline: 20/06/2003

五月 2, 2003

The Pathogenesis and Applied Genomics Committee promotes the application of post genome activities in research on the pathogenesis of African trypanosomiasis, Chagas disease, dengue fever, lymphatic filariasis, leishmaniasis, leprosy, malaria, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis and tuberculosis. The Committee also supports research to promote the rapid application of genomics in the development of new drugs and diagnostics.

Novel research is encouraged in the application of functional genomics and computational biology to promote studies on potential parasite/virus targets that may lead to methods for disease diagnosis and interventions. The Committee also provides support for the application of genomic approaches to identify new drug targets and diagnostic indicators through the Working Group on Applied Genomics to Drugs and Diagnostics.
