Oxford colleges are preparing to publish their students' examination results for the first time in a bid to correct "inaccuracies" in an unofficial annual league table.
The number of students obtaining each class of degree at each college this year is expected to be published on Oxford's website in the next three weeks.
Colleges will be listed in alphabetical order rather than ranked according to points awarded for the degree class, as they are in the Norrington table, which is published by The Times every year.
A university spokeswoman said that this year's Norrington table - which ranks Oxford's wealthiest college, St John's, at the top for the first time in six years - is likely to be inaccurate because it does not include the results of about 10 per cent of students.
She said: "The Norrington table relies on students collecting information from lists posted up at the university, but many students ask for their results not to be included. The new table will include all results, because they will not have to publish students' names."
