A student revolt against HSBC bank is gathering momentum, with nearly 3,000 joining a social network campaign group over the bank's decision to end interest-free graduate overdrafts.

Thousands of users have signed up to the "Stop the Great HSBC Graduate Rip Off" campaign since it was launched on Facebook by the National Union of Students. A protest outside HSBC's London headquarters is planned in a bid to force the banking giant into a U'turn over the issue.

HSBC confirmed last month that it was scrapping its fee-free overdraft on graduate accounts.
