At last we know who is really to blame for the state of the British economy - Dominic Cork. English cricket's hat-trick hero against the West Indies is exposed by incisive revisionist analysis in the current Royal Economic Society Newsletter by Howard Wall of Birkbeck College.

Citing such master works as Keynes's The General Theory of Employment, Interest, Money and Cricket he points to the vastly higher growth rates enjoyed by baseball-playing countries and calls for a programme of IMF and World Bank loans to spread baseball and "eradicate the cricket-induced malaise".
