No gongs for Blair bunch

The Political Studies Association held its annual awards ceremony last week. While many high-profile politicians received awards - including former foreign secretary Robin Cook, London mayor Ken Livingstone and former chairman of the Conservative Party Theresa May - there were no representatives from government.

The Diary wonders whether this lack of recognition reflects the relatively few top-rated political science departments and the fact that they believe the government's research concentration policy could prove catastrophic to the discipline?
