No ceiling in this job

十一月 23, 2001

Robin Morse has quit as head of King's College London's law school, with the reason rumoured to be the somewhat unsavoury state of the school's buildings. The final straw is reported to have been flooding last month, which caused the ceiling of his office - among others - to collapse.

"The school has been promised a new building for years but it hasn't materialised. There has been a lot of building work at the other campuses, and people think the Strand campus has been neglected," whispered one insider.

A university spokesman said: "The roof was being fixed, and if the heavy rain had come a couple of weeks later, it wouldn't have happened.

"We are well aware that the law school is not an ideal building and it is a priority for the college to agree on the options for the future."
