Brussels, 25 Feb 2003

The international association for the promotion of cooperation with scientists from the New Independent States (NIS) of the former Soviet Union (INTAS) has established an e-library to provide scientific literature to NIS researchers.

The programme will run until the end of 2005 and is open to eleven NIS partner countries. The library will enable scientists to have rapid access to a range of electronic journals and databases, and they will also receive additional information by document delivery. The range of scientific fields addressed by INTAS projects will be covered in the library.

Two organisations - the international network for the availability of scientific publications (INASP) and the technical information library at Hanover University - have been selected to set up the library.
