Network meets to discuss vehicle passive safety

The third European vehicle passive safety network conference will take place in Brussels, Belgium on 2 October.

The objective of the European vehicle passive safety network is to contribute to the reduction of road victims in Europe by passive safety measures. It represents more than 45 experienced and multidisciplinary partners from most EU Member States, including car manufacturers, suppliers of safety systems, research institutes and universities active in the field of passive safety.

At the conference, the network will present its latest activities and results as well as future plans. Technical presentations will also be made the subject of EU funded projects. Topics for discussion include accidentology, injury biomechanics, restrain systems, vehicle crashworthiness and virtual testing. Finally, several organisations will be invited to present their views on passive and active safety issues.
