Name game

七月 7, 2000

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann) is meeting in Japan next Friday to decide on the process for creating new generic top-level domains.

Icann, which is in charge of defining the rules for and administering the domain name system, is asking for answers to 74 questions, included in a consultation document posted to its website, which will draft the landscape of the next-generation internet. French business association Cigref is urging European business and academic interests to contribute to the debate.
