Move over Harry Potter

Hollywood had better put the Harry Potter movie on hold and go straight for Son of Braveheart. Tom Devine's book The Scottish Nation has held the number one position on the Scottish bestseller lists for two weeks, beating Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Professor Devine, director of Aberdeen University's research institute of Irish and Scottish studies, said: "This indicates that something important is happening in Scotland, when a serious history book overtakes the international bestseller. It shows a deep and renewed interest in the Scottish identity." His private response was no doubt a less sober "Yess!!"
