Medical video focuses on rare views of brain

十一月 14, 1997

An educational video in the final stages of production should give medical science undergraduates a rare view of the brain.

The video, in the online editing stage and due for release in the next month will show the brain in situ. It was commissioned by the Higher Education Video Consortium in response to requests, initially from psychology departments that rarely have the opportunity to present the brain in this way to students.

However, the video, produced with the aid of Guy's Hospital, has attracted the interest of biology and medical departments. The production is one of three new videos that include examination and anatomy as well as pathology with examples of Alzheimer's, stroke and Parkinsonism.

The video consortium comprises 16 United Kingdom universities and began production last year with the aim of delivering cheap and royalty-free tapes on popular subject areas within three years. Information: www/tltp.ac.uk/c-web/shotlist
