London South Bank University - Expect the unexpected expectant

十月 22, 2009

Student midwives will learn how to respond to unexpected "emergencies" thanks to a new teaching facility. Once a month, midwifery students at London South Bank University will be called into The Real Time Labour Room, where they will have to deal with simulated situations designed to prepare them for real-life emergencies on clinical wards. Each scenario will be attended by the first five students to enter the labour room. Management of the emergency will take no longer than seven minutes, with verbal feedback taking about five minutes, after which students will return to their classes.
