Leeds Metropolitan University - Male-order shopping

十二月 17, 2009

A study by an academic from Leeds Metropolitan University has confirmed that there are two types of male shopper: the "traditional" and the "metrosexual" man. John Temperley, senior lecturer in marketing at Leeds Business School, said the work showed that Leeds city centre retailers could benefit from the introduction of "male zones" to establish a more masculine shopping atmosphere, with logical layouts and easily identifiable sections. He is scheduled to present a paper, titled "Male Shoppers - Are They from Another Planet?" in April 2010 at the seventh conference of the university's Centre for International Research in Consumers' Location and their Environments.
