Governors vote to keep Exeter's music department
Staff at Exeter University’s music department are celebrating after university governors voted to keep it open. The department's problems include a £22,000 deficit, ageing practice and performance facilities and a key member of staff has left.

Plans for a university in Cornwall under threat
Legal wrangles and soaring construction costs are threatening plans for a university in Cornwall. A student prospectus for the Combined Universities of Cornwall project has just been launched, but Exeter University and Falmouth College of Arts have failed to agree on who is to control the main campus site at Tremough.
