Oxford and Princeton form research alliance
Oxford and Princeton universities have announced collaboration on research and student exchanges, giving both access to new funding bodies and a significant global presence. Twelve research projects have already been identified.

Top marks for out-of-school study
Out-of-school study support schemes boost pupils’ results, attendance and attitude, according to research from Strathclyde University. Education secretary David Blunkett hailed the findings. He said: “Time and again research shows us that learning is not just about what gets taught in a classroom.”

The National Union of Students-Union of Students in Ireland is lobbying the province’s housing executive to follow Great Britain in a mandatory licensing scheme for the private rented sector.
