Luton graduates are more employable
Luton University produces more employable graduates than the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, according to employment indicators published today. Every home-domiciled student from a full-time degree course at Luton University was working six months after graduating last summer.

Charity boss attacks government funding
Wellcome Trust director Mike Dexter has attacked government core science funding, saying charities have been forced to pick up the bill. He said several universities were on the brink of bankruptcy as increases in project funding were not balanced by increases in funding council budgets for salaries and building maintenance.

Cases of autism have increased tenfold in the United Kingdom over the past decade, according to the Autism Research Unit at the University of Sunderland. Director Paul Shattock called for action to determine the cause of the increase.
