Clinical psychology gets RAE recognition
Clinical psychology will be more fairly assessed in this year’s research assessment exercise. Funding chiefs today announced that staff employed by the National Health Service would be counted as researchers in the psychology unit of assessment.

Mental performance can be improved by glucose and oxygen, scientists at the University of Northumbria said today. In experiments, volunteers given shots of pure oxygen and glucose drinks did better in mental tests.
Poet laureate in harassment row
The University of East Anglia is investigating an embarrassing row between the poet laureate Andrew Motion and one of his students who is reportedly accusing him of sexual harassment. Mr Motion says that he has complained to the authorities of harassment by mature student Laura Fish.
