£15m wage boost for lecturers
Education secretary David Blunkett announced a £15 million salary boost for further education lecturers at the official launch of the Learning and Skills Council in Southwark Cathedral today.

Call for reform of Scots rape laws
The women’s campaign of the National Union of Students Scotland today joined calls for the reform of Scottish rape laws after Aberdeen University student Edward Watt was acquitted of the rape of another student. The judge ruled that lack of consent was not enough for a rape charge.
