College staff threaten strikes
Further education college lecturers are threatening an escalating campaign of strikes in pursuit of an immediate "no strings" £3,000 pay rise for all full-time teaching and management staff.

V-c distances himself from organs scandal
The University of Liverpool today issued a statement about its involvement in the Royal Liverpool Children's Inquiry. Vice-chancellor Philip Love said that the university had no responsibility for overseeing the clinical activities of Dick van Velzen, the pathologist at the centre of the children's organs scandal. The report of the Royal Liverpool Children's Inquiry cites 15 "management failings" by the university.
