Scots students demand support reforms
Students from seven Scottish higher education institutions are demanding further student support reforms after unveiling a £534 million "wall of debt" outside the Scottish Parliament. They say the graduate endowment scheme will add to the burden, and want the earnings threshold for payment raised from £10,000 to £25,000.

FE lecturers threaten strike action over pay
Further education lecturers' union leaders have warned that a pay dispute and threatened strike action is "inevitable" this year. The warning followed new figures from the Association of Colleges which revealed that college heads' pay increased by an average of 4.48 per cent last year, bringing the median salary for a principal up to £70,000.

Richer lecturers return to Brazil's universities
Brazil's universities are returning to normal after a three-month strike over lecturers' pay was settled when union leaders accepted a 13 per cent pay rise and a commitment to 2,000 extra academics.
