British Council abandons Zimbabwe
The British Council confirmed it has closed its offices in central Harare, which shut temporarily for security reasons earlier this year. Staff are working from the High Commission but the council's library and information services in Zimbabwe are suspended indefinitely.

Genghis Khan's possible resting place discovered
Scientists from the University of Chicago believe they have found the burial ground of Genghis Khan, the legendary 12th century Mongol leader, approximately 322km north-east of the Mongolian capital, Ulan Bator. 

Krasnoyarsk scientist accused of misappropriating money
A scientist from the Krasnoyarsk Thermophysics Centre, arrested last February on suspicion of spying for China, has been accused of of "illegally cashing" 446,000 roubles (£10,000) for his own use. Krasnoyarsk Technical University also plans to sue him for the money.
