Sniper fire closes Chechen university
Classes at the University of Grozny, in the Chechen capital, have been suspended after three Russian servicemen came under fire from unknown gunmen as they left a campus building. One man was killed and another seriously wounded.
Zimbabwe threat shuts British Council services
The British Council has closed its library and information centre in Harare in response to threats by Zimbabwe’s war veterans against embassies and aid organisations they suspect of supporting the opposition.
