Protesting Ethiopian students face expulsion
Riot police in Ethiopia have clashed with students from the University of Addis Ababa in protests over the way the campus is guarded. The government had told students to end a week-long sit-in or face expulsion.
Pay deal ends Hawaii strike
Professors at the University of Hawaii have ended a 13-day strike after reaching an agreement on pay with the state authorities. The action, which began on April 5, has prevented more than 40,000 students from attending class.
