Australian quality agency appoints chief
Australia's University Quality Agency has appointed David Woodhouse as its first chief executive. Dr Woodhouse is director of New Zealand's Universities Academic Audit Unit and president of the International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies.

Mexico's Zapatista rebels, who engaged in an armed uprising in the southern state of Chiapas in 1994, have set up camp at the National Autonomous University in Mexico City after a 3,000km road trip.
