Eritrea to enter internet age
Plans to link the University of Asmara in Eritrea, the only African country not on the internet, have been announced by Eritrea’s ministry of transport and communications. The country is due to end its digital isolation after numerous delays to plans first announced four years ago.
EU ministers praise UK initiative
A meeting of EU research ministers in Brussels today praised a UK initiative for disseminating scientific findings as a prime example of the machinery needed to build a planned European research community. The project, AlphaGalileo , is used by more than 1,000 organisations to disseminate their work.
