Lack of drive identified

SMALL businesses say that graduates "lack motivation and drive", according to research from London's Training and Enterprise Council. Almost 90 per cent of London's small and medium-sized enterprises believe graduates need better communication skills, and almost 80 per cent said there was a problem with motivation.

"Much more needs to be done if graduates are to meet the real needs of business", said Jeremy Long, chief executive of Focus Central London which carried out the research.
