A London university has been nominated as the academic lead for a new public-private consortium that aims to improve the treatment of chronic pain. The five-year project, led by King's College London, will receive £5 million from the Innovative Medicines Initiative and £11 million from the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations. Steve McMahon, a professor at the Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases at King's, said: "There are some big questions facing the pain field at the moment and this consortium is in a unique position to address them."
