King's College London - Games up for cheaters

十二月 10, 2009

Cheating athletes are to be targeted by an anti-doping laboratory run by King's College London during the Olympic Games in 2012. King's has joined forces with GlaxoSmithKline to enable the university's Drug Control Centre to operate a World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited satellite laboratory during the London Games. The project will be led by David Cowan, head of the department of forensic science and drug monitoring at King's and director of the centre. Thousands of samples will be analysed throughout the event, and the laboratory will be in operation 24 hours a day for the duration.
