四月 17, 2008

A university and three NHS foundation trusts have announced plans for a health sciences centre, which they claim will offer the widest range of services and research expertise in the UK. The Academic Health Sciences Centre will integrate research, teaching and clinical service and will enable patients to benefit from breakthroughs in medical science and receive treatment at the earliest possible opportunity. The collaboration brings together King's, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Rick Trainor, principal of King's College London, said: "There are probably only half-a-dozen university and healthcare combinations in the UK that can genuinely aspire to be world-class AHSCs - and ours is one of them."
