MEPs approved an amended proposal on direct actions by the Joint Research Centre in relation to the 6th Framework Programme for Research. The JRC will be a joint player in terms of its participation in both networks of excellence and integrated projects.
Parliament stresses that the JRC should pay attention to the applicant countries. The JRC should concentrate in particular on the scientific and technical aspects associated with transfer of the acquis communautaire in relation to the different policies of the Union.
The proposals for specific programmes for implementing the Sixth Framework Programme are designed to present each of the thematic priorities in greater detail and to clearly set out their content.
